Have I mentioned how much I love thrift stores in Phoenix? Because I really love thrift stores in Phoenix.
I found this super cute pair of jeans for six bucks. The fit is adorable, I love the detailing and the fact that they are actually denim, not that stretchy cheap crap. I am, however, not a size six. I haven’t been a size six since I was in junior high, unless I shell out for a pair of Abercrombies, and I’m fairly certain Abercrombie and Fitch rolls with vanity sizing. Kickin’ a single digit size just isn’t worth the extra $73 to me, I’ll stick with my hippie rigs and thrift store scores.
I wanted a simple detail that would add a little flair as well as a couple of inches. Something summery and flashy, but not so flashy that it would draw a lot of attention. A second glance is one thing, full on stares are quite another. The objective was to make these cuties fit into my everyday life with ease.
I wore them out to my favorite breakfast joint, a spot called Harlow’s in Tempe, and ran a few errands. The fit was comfortable, a little kicky, and the dude at the gas station even called me “Miss”.
If you are a woman over the age of 30, you know exactly how sweetly that word rings in your ears. Miss.
I’ve had a good swing of creativity lately.
A sign of comfort and waning stress.
I hope it sticks.
