Heating up tortillas is a challenge for those of us who don’t cook food in microwaves.

Here’s how we do it:

warming tortillas, the lazy way

That’s a cooling rack that’s sitting on top of the pot of chile verde.  The heat and steam from the simmering food makes an energy efficient, simple tortilla warmer-upper.

  1. We do the same thing, but with a wooden spoon or two or our splatter guard (I LOATHE grease all over my stove top!). I’d also point out how “green” this double-duty use of heat is. . . no extra heat source to get that tortilla nice and warm and soft.
    Love it.

oddly enough, I really like scrubbing down the stove. I know, it’s weird.

  3. . . . good idea, microwave tortillas are really horrible! We use a skillet for ours :-)
