I’ve started a Facebook group for the peaceful peacock!! There you can see a portfolio of previous works as well as receive notices for future items for sale.
All you have to do is visit the peaceful peacock’s group page and join the group. If you wanna be pals, then please look for “Peaceful Peacock” because I reserve my real life profile for the people that I hang out with in the real world just to keep it simple.

Let’s just think of how nice it will be to go outside in August without suffocating on all the smoke from the forest fires, shall we?
Everybody now: “Well, we need the moisture.”*
*A phrase that is particular to Montana, like “But it’s a dry heat” is to Arizona and “The mosquitoes are so big here they’re our state bird” is to Minnesota.
What’s your unofficial state motto?

Our beautiful Annabelle (no middle name yet) joined our little tribe Friday morning at 8:53am, April 3rd. It was a quick and natural delivery and everyone is healthy and happy.
The gratuitous barage of photos:

…a few hours old

…looks remarkably like her big brother

…Annabelle – “gracious and beautiful”

…annabee and papa

…open eyes

…big brother stomping the hospital halls

…cruising through the hallways of the maternity ward

…working on using a big boy cup
And then there was the little mishap involving our cockatiel Louie, an unfortunate position on a chair, and papa’s bum

…Louie on a better day

…did you know that an avian vet will happily set a broken bird leg?
A big week all around!!! I’ll be taking it easy for a few more days…weeks…whatever it takes to acclimate to all of the goodness blossoming around here this spring.
The last necessity arrived today:

We got a smokin’ deal (well, Grandpa got a smokin’ deal) on this Britax Boulevard carseat, the best of the best in carseats. Easy to adjust, easy to use, easy, easy, easy. This is important when you will be buckling your growing tot into it for years to come.
Not only is Britax rated highest in safety standards, this particular seat will fit 5-65 pounds. Also important for people whose kids grow as fast as ours (our son outgrew his infant carseat in 12 weeks when he hit 20 pounds). More expensive? Yes. But cheaper than two carseats. Or three. Most convertible carseats are only suited to fit 45 pounds.
And rather than carry our baby around in the “bucket”, we opt to use one of these.
Even if you pass on the Britax, do make sure that you can fasten each part of the harness individually and that you can easily adjust the shoulder height to accomodate different thicknesses of clothing.
And make sure to head on down to your local fire department to have the installation of the seat inspected–9 out of 10 carseats are improperly installed.
14 days to go!!!
