I went, I saw, I scored

Yard sales are one of my greatest joys in life.  It’s true.  To kick off the season around these parts, there is a huge event at the fairgrounds:  Garage-o-rama.  Two bucks for admission (or six if you want a buffalo burger lunch) gets you into three buildings packed to the walls with treasures of all shapes and sizes.

Here is my booty from this year:

A set of six Holly Hobbie juice glasses (nostalgia got the better of me on this one):  60 cents.

Some good old vintage pattern booklets and magazines:  90 cents.

And of course I would never leave a place like that without an armful of fabric.  Surely you know me better than that by now.  Priced at $14 but a fat, fat belly usually brings out the generosity in folks.  Vintage fabric score, including three 4 yard pieces:  six bucks.

The onset of yard sailing season?

Priceless.

it does exist

Spring, that is.  Bare feets, warm sunshine, swaying hammocks, and green grass.

Not here, of course, but it’s coming.  Soon.

eerily setting the tone for the tragedy of the morning.

As many of you may have heard, our beloved downtown Bozeman was victim to a gas explosion last week, the largest in 24 years here in Montana.  Two buildings were leveled in the initial blast, several businesses and homes were destroyed in the ensuing fire, and a beautiful, sweet life was lost.

One sweet, beautiful life.  In all of that destruction.  Blessings of peace and sympathy to her loving family.  Know that your angel is present in our hearts and prayers.

May you be well, may you be happy.

it's that time of year…

But mostly I think it’s just that time of life over here. The baby is steadily growing, healthy and blissful in her little home so close to mama’s heart.

Mama? Mama is totally miserable and taking everyone else with her.

In order to brighten things up a bit and remind myself of the beauty of the everyday (even when you have to waddle through it) I will be focusing on a few pictoral essays in the weeks to come. Thank you all for continuing to check in despite my absence lately–the support and inspiration that you give is like a shining star.
