So the boy generally stirs around 10 or 11pm for a late night snack and tonight was no exception.  Most nights he will simply nurse a bit and drift back into a peaceful rest, but there are times when he suddenly has much to say that it simply cannot wait until morning.  He’s been very diligent about practicing sounds, particularly da-da-da-da-da-da-da, ss-ssss-ss, OY!, and something that sounds like jee-oy-jee.  Not to mention his newest feat of pretending to cough…

Tonight he began a string of na-na-na-na-na that made me smile because we hadn’t heard the “Nana” sound in awhile.  And then the realization hit that yes, for the–is it the fourth now?–year in a row we forgot to call a very special gal on a very special day.  Crap.

Though your son and I may be horrible at remembering your birthday, it looks like your grandson has his Nana tucked in tight in that big heart of his.  Happy birthday from all of us with a special dose of love from Nico.
